Bill O'Reilly - Why doesn't he worry about Irish Illegals

Bill O'Reilly - Hypocrite!

By Juan Muhammed Kim, Esq.
Executive Director
American Secret Society of Illegal Immigrants
O'Reilly has gone beserk again over an illegal who allegedly killed a legal American and his two adult sons in the sanctuary city of San Francisco.

You notice that all the illegals that he attacks for committing crimes in America are Hispanics. Racist!

What about the young Irish girl in the picture above? She is accused of licking a friend's ice cream cone without her permission. What a dasdardly crime!

Look at the group of illegal Irish in the picture above. Notice their sallow pale skin, a sure sign of a killer, their pale deadly eyes. These are the people that police and ICE should be hunting down. NOT HAPPY-GO-LUCKY HISPANIC RAPISTS AND MUSLIM TERRORIST WANNA-BES. They're just having some fun getting Americans scared. They don't mean any harm.

Lay off Asian, Hispanic and Muslim illegals, Bill, and go after the true threat to American safety, DRUNKEN IRISH ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS!!!!!!!

American Perfidity

The Consequences of American Genocide
What Are We to Do Next

By Juan Muhammed Kim, Esq.
Executive Director
American Secret Society of Illegal Immigrants (ASSI)

Americans think they have a very strong argument in denying unlimited illegal immigration into their supposed country. But do they really?

The argument can be made, and should be made, that the early Americans were far more genocidal than their imperialist counterparts in Africa and Asia.

That is, perhaps 90% of American Native Americans died in the first 100 years after the appearance of Europeans in the New World.

Now, Americans try to ascribe a benign cause to this wholesale slaughter of Native Americans -- that the Native Americans, cut off from interaction for 30,000 years or more with the rest of humanity, did not have the resistance against simple European diseases such as measles that hardly affected Europeans but cut through Native Americans like a sweat-soaked machete.

Studying the history of European imperialism in Africa and Asia, however, so don't read anything about the Europeans offering rewards for scalps of the natives as in the New World.

Celebrate San Francisco - Best Sanctuary City

San Francisco -
Best Sanctuary City Award-2008

The American Secret Society of Illegal Immigrants (ASSI) proudly awards our 2008 distinguished sanctuary city award on San Francisco.

By Juan Muhammed Kim, Esq.
Executive Director, ASSI

While many localities in the southwest, Midwest and Mid-Atlantic have adapted increasingly harsh policies towards illegals, we honor San Francisco for remaining a reliabile "Sanctuary City," where we illegals can freely settle and receive a host of government-paid benefits on housing, cars, food stamps, furniture, flat panel TVs and PlayStations that will automatically elevate our standard of living 1000% over our standard of living back home, without having done anything to deserve it, except crossing the border illegally!!!!

Americans -- Ya gotta love'em.

Top photo is of pretty boy atheist mayor Gavin Newsome, who cheats spectacularly on his women, both his wife and girlfriends, not burdened by any concerns over God's displeasure. He is the strongest backer of San Francisco's role as a sanctuary city, determined in some sick way to destroy all of the strengths of America that gave him so many benefits. Why? We have no idea. We just have to salute such spectacularly stupid and naive persons for paving the way for our continuing invasion of America.

The men in the top picture are dedicated San Francisco volunteers to the sanctuary program. They  have asked to take in all illegal orphan boys between the ages of 10 and 15 to offer a safe and secure home to wayward youths.

ASSI salutes the generosity of such men, organized as Guys Anxious to Yelp. ASSI also supports their goals of becoming Boy Scout leaders.

It is truly offensive that the sexist, homophobic policies of the Boy Scouts prevent such men as becoming role models and tent partners for Boy Scouts.

We call on all parents of San Francisco Boy Scouts to permit such men to be their patrol's sole Scout leaders. Send in your emails of support to welcome.all.illegals@gmail.com.

Only 26 illegals in one room??!!!??

The following article describes a disgraceful waste of space when they easily could have fitted 50 illegals in this house. We will expel these members from ASSI once we have identified them!!! The proper method of spacing illegals for sleeping in shown in official ASSI approved layout ABOVE.

We also heard that they halted their Saturday night drinking parties at 3 am, rather than continuing to the legal minimum of 9 am.so as to go outside and sing Mexican drinking songs every half hour from 6 am to 9 am to appreciate Americans.

26 suspected illegal immigrants at San Marcos home

SAN MARCOS, Texas — Police arrested four people on aggravated kidnapping charges after 26 suspected illegal immigrants were kept in a mobile home in San Marcos .

Police on Thursday announced results of the raid on the residence with no air conditioning.

San Marcos Police Chief Howard Williams says most of the people at the mobile home were in their underwear, apparently to prevent them from fleeing.

Authorities believe the immigrants, who were detained pending determination of their legal status, are from Mexico , Honduras , El Salvador and Guatemala .

A tip led law officers to the home late Wednesday. Police believe the suspected smugglers were threatening the captives until their families paid more money, as much as $2,000 apiece.

Williams says 10 immigrants required medical attention for dehydration and minor wounds.

HERE IS A RECOMMENDED ASSI SLEEPING ARRANGEMENT TO STUFF AN EFFICIENT AMOUNT OF ILLEGALS INTO ONE HOUSE:

COMING SOON - 2008 Edition

The Official Secret Handbook for Illegal Immigrants
2008 edition
Coming Soon!
Keep coming back to read and comment as blog is updated daily, and be among the first in your illegal community to get the latest edition of the guidebook that has led millions and millions of illegals to the Promised Land of American Bliss and Ease.

Remember, only illegals permitted to buy!!!!

Warning to our British illegal cousins

Warning - Warning - Warning
To our British illegal cousins -- They are getting sick of you over there, as well. ASSI is ready to help you, dear cousins. We have plenty of extra illegals to help reinforce you if you want.

A BBC News investigation into an illegal immigrant community in London has led to the arrests of three men and claims of forged documents and workers being exploited. Southall's residents give their reaction to these so-called faujis.
"They're living, cooking, eating in the same room while the landlords are collecting more rent. It's not a good life. It's a rough life," said legal Indian immigrant Vijay Sarin, above.
"To be honest, it's very, very embarrassing. I feel bad that they're out there, terrible."
A woman in a shop in Southall's King Street looks nervously outside, at the groups of middle-aged men hanging around on street corners.
Many of them are waiting for offers of work, which will mostly likely be unskilled, over long hours and for much less than the minimum wage.
They are dressed rather shabbily and match the description of faujis - the term illegal immigrants use to describe themselves. They seem rather placid and lounge against walls, and on benches.
The shop worker does not want to be identified, and seems afraid of what will happen if she publicly speaks out.
"I used to feel sorry for them, when they tell you they've spent 800,000 Indian rupees to come over here - that's nearly £12,000," the lady from the shop continues from behind the counter.
"But no more. There's been groups hanging around for the last three or four years, and I have to walk past them every day to get to work.
It's also really easy to get a false passport - I've got a fake Portuguese one at home in my drawer, and some false Italian documents."

"I just want them to go and for the police to deal with them."
Outside, King Street is a busy, bustling place, that looks tired.
Fruit and vegetable stalls mingle with takeaway restaurants which have seen better days, and faded signs offer cheap calls to far-flung locations next to general stores crammed to the rafters with a dizzying array of seemingly random goods.
The men hanging around at the end of the road have now gone. It is hard to confirm they are fauji, but certainly when they first spotted the BBC film crew arriving, a group of three sitting together casually stood up and wandered away.
When the crew began to pack up they drifted back to their original spot.
Striding up King Street is Boyd Williams, a pastor at Southall Baptist Church who has lived in the area for 30 years.
He saw the BBC's investigation on Wednesday night's news, and is not surprised at its findings, which included widespread unlawful job practices, squalid housing, and a thriving trade in fake documents.

Supt Jenkins says illegal immigrants are not just an issue in Southall
He says: "It's extremely difficult to get a legal worker in Southall.
"I wanted building work doing at my church, and I wanted the workers to be legal, and my neighbour told me that would be difficult to arrange.
"It's also really easy to get a false passport - I've got a fake Portuguese one at home in my drawer, and some false Italian documents.
"One of my parishioners gave them to me after a crisis of conscience.
"But it's not just Southall, it's a London problem and a nationwide problem. But there is so much pressure around here to cut corners and pay backhanders. It's extremely difficult to be honest about things."
Superintendent Ian Jenkins is the acting borough commander in Ealing, and says the problem of illegal immigrants happens "all over London " and names Kilburn, the East End and Harringay as other hotspots.
He said: "We meet with representatives in the community who tell us the issues that they want us to tackle as a priority.
"Immigration has not come up before. Maybe there's now an opportunity for members of the community to pass on any information they have."

Groups of men often hang around the main streets of Southall
Supt Jenkins says, despite some people's fears, there is nothing to fear from having to walk past large groups of men hanging around, looking for work.
He said: "There may be a certain level of personal apprehension, but you should not worry about having to walk past them."
A short distance away from King Street is the quiet residential street of Marlborough Road , where one of the arrested men lives.
Vijay Sarin, 63, who lives a few doors down, is unhappy with the illegal immigrants in her community.
She, like everyone else, says she knows about them, how they live crammed into houses, and how they work illegally for poor pay.
She said: "In just one house there's many people. It's dangerous because you don't know their background. They're illegal and not paying tax. They live in garages, not even in a proper house."
She does, however, express some concern and a dash of sympathy for those working long hours for minimal pay, and who live in crammed and squalid conditions.
"They're living, cooking, eating in the same room while the landlords are collecting more rent. It's not a good life. It's a rough life."
Three men are still being interviewed by the police and the UK Border Agency in connection with immigration offences.

Advice from Muhammed-2

Advice from Muhammed - 2nd entry

Illegal readers are invited to submit questions directly to Muhammed to "welcome.all.illegals@gmail.com"

Muhammed Ali Fashoon is a trained jihadist and passed 13 regrettable years in the Great Satan of America, where he dated 123 girls before rediscovering Allah (with dozens of fathers and boyfriends chasing him).

Alicia Sanchez Rodriguez: Señor Muhammed, will Barack Obama be friendly to the Jihadist and other foreign terrorist movements. I myself am a member of the Columbian guerrilla movement FARC.

Muhammed: Well, even though you are an infidel swine, I assume at least you are not a Christian as you are a member of a leftist terror group. I will therefore answer your question.

Only eight days after the 9/11 attacks, Barack Obama wrote this in a Chicago newspaper: "We must also engage, however, in the more difficult task of understanding the sources of such madness. The essence of this tragedy, it seems to me, derives from a fundamental absence of empathy on the part of the attackers: an inability to imagine, or connect with, the humanity and suffering of others. Such a failure of empathy, such numbness to the pain of a child or the desperation of a parent, is not innate; nor, history tells us, is it unique to a particular culture, religion, or ethnicity. It may find expression in a particular brand of violence, and may be channeled by particular demagogues or fanatics. Most often, though, it grows out of a climate of poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair."

WHAT CLAPTRAP!

Most of the 9/11 hijackers were wealthy Saudi citizens. I believe the U.S. government had already learned that fact by 9 days after the attack. Obama willfully ignored this fact because of his far leftist training, or he is a typical ignorant American softie, blaming all of our violence on our supposed poverty and ignorance.

Vote for this man! We will be able to pour into the country unobstructed!

PART TWO

More Illegal Immigrants Putting Affairs in OrderDeportation Risk Prompts Preparations

Washington Post Staff Writer Tuesday, July 15, 2008; Page B01

A 30-year-old single mother from Manassas recently visited a notary public to formally arrange custody for her toddler son after she's gone. It's deportation, not death, that has her worried.

With federal authorities stepping up raids and local police joining enforcement efforts, illegal immigrants and their advocates say that preparing for possible deportation is becoming a common feature of life in their underground world.

They are designating who should take custody of their children, indicating what should be done with cars and homes, ensuring that relatives have power of attorney to access bank accounts and key documents, and memorizing phone numbers they might need to call from jail. Some are sending their U.S.-born children for visits to their home countries so they could adapt more easily if the family is suddenly forced to move back.

For Catalina, being prepared meant a trip to the notary so her best friend would have appropriate paperwork to take custody of her year-old son and deliver him to Mexico if she were deported."I'm still nervous [about getting caught]," said Catalina, who, like other illegal immigrants interviewed, spoke on condition that her last name not be published.

"But I feel a lot calmer knowing that whatever happens, I'll never lose my son to foster care."In most cases, the planning is done informally through conversations like the one Cathy Lorena, a 21-year-old from El Salvador, had recently with her brother in the dining room of the colonial house they share in Herndon.

Although Cathy Lorena and her husband have been living illegally in the United States for three years, she said she started feeling insecure only a few months ago, after her husband was fired as an office cleaner when the company started checking workers' identity documents."You start to worry that someone at the company will call immigration on you," said Lorena, who works for a similar office cleaning firm and has a year-old son.

"Every day you leave your baby to go to work, and you wonder if you're going to return."Although Lorena had always assumed that her brother, who is a legal permanent resident, would take care of the child if she and her husband were detained, she suddenly felt it necessary to sit down with her brother and spell that out.

"I wanted to make sure he knows things like who my son's doctor is, where the babysitter lives, and that he's the person we would want to be in charge," she said.

Although Lorena did not sign any legal forms, illegal immigrants in the area are increasingly making their precautions official. Jay Marks, a Silver Spring-based immigration lawyer who has become well known in the Washington Latino community through his appearances on Spanish-language radio, said he gets two or three calls a week from illegal immigrants seeking advice on how to give their arrangements legal force.

"They'll say, for example, 'My house, I'd want to transfer it to someone else,' or, 'My car, I'd want to ship it home, but how can I make sure someone could do that for me if I were locked up?' "Similarly, workers at Union Hispana Multiservices, the notary public office in Prince William County where Catalina filled out the power-of-attorney forms for her son, said they never saw such requests until late last year, when county supervisors passed a resolution requiring police to check the immigration status of people stopped for other offenses.

Months later, the company is still seeing about three clients a week who want to sign power-of-attorney forms designating custody of their children in the event of deportation, said Claudia Rivera, the notary who helped Catalina.Meanwhile, at the Salvadoran consulate in Northern Virginia, the number of immigrants registering their U.S.-born children for Salvadoran citizenship jumped from 57 between January and May last year to 219 during the same period this year.

Consul Mirian Vargas said she thinks the increase is due to immigrants' growing anxiety rather than a spike in births, because "they tell us so. They say that they are worried they will be arrested and deported, and they want to make sure their children will be able to get a passport and join them back in El Salvador quickly.

"Saul, a Honduran living in Annandale, has already sent his 4-year-old son ahead for a trial run. A few days ago, the 28-year-old auto mechanic and his wife, who is also in the country illegally, put the U.S.-born boy on a plane to Honduras so he can spend the next two months with his grandparents.

"It was very hard to do it. . . . He's honestly too young to be traveling, and I miss him already," Saul said a day later. "But we're doing this out of necessity. . . . From one day to the next, anything can happen, and I want him to know our culture, so that if we suddenly get sent back there, he'll be able to get used to it quickly.

"The chance that an illegal immigrant will be detained and deported after making it past the U.S. border remains quite low. The vast majority of the hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants who are detained each year are caught trying to sneak in. And although workplace arrests have risen tenfold since 2002, from 510 to nearly 5,000, that still accounts for a fraction of the nation's estimated 8 million illegal immigrant workers.

Nonetheless, each new raid, including one that scooped up 45 employees of an Annapolis painting company two weeks ago, sends another ripple of anxiety through the community and adds to immigrants' sense that they must prepare themselves for the worst.Immigrant advocates also are hammering home the message in training sessions.

The Manassas-based Immigration and Human Rights Law Group has mounted one of the most extensive outreach efforts, conducting about 30 three-hour seminars during which it has provided about 3,000 immigrants with sample power-of-attorney forms and detailed advice on more sophisticated strategies, such as retaining an attorney in advance or checking on the exact nature of their immigration violation in case they can attempt to resolve it before it becomes a problem.

"The deportation of a relative, particularly if they're the main bread-winner, is almost like a death in the family," said the group's Lisa Johnson-Firth. "And just as for a death, families need to be prepared to handle it.”

Illegals Prepare for Deportation - Leave Children Behind

PART ONE
MESSAGE FROM ASSI: Oh, dear fellow illegals. Let us all weep over the fact that we have arrived at this point in America when ICE is actually deporting parents of legal American citizens, so called anchor-babies their illegal parents hoped to provide a way to hang on in America. The United States is one of the few countries that confer citizenship on the babies of illegal immigrants. We can only thank that Americans are too dumb never to question this law, which they could simply change by a law passed in Congress.Thankfully, our liberal allies in Congress would never permit such a law, knowing that we illegals vote overwhelmingly Democrat. In Mexico, a child born of two Americans could never achieve Mexican citizenship, yet the Mexican government demands that parents of such U.S.-born children be permitted to stay to raise them. Why not “take them home?” Note in story that all illegals are making arrangements to leave their children, even babies, behind in case they get deported. To give them a change at the American dream? NO!!!! So lawyers can petition to have the parents authorized to emigrate legally to the United States as parents of U.S. citizens. The parents care not a wit of the mental damage being left behind can cause their children. They are useful as a legal lifeline. What a country!

Who to Endorse for President

The American Secret Society of Illegals will endorse a candidate for president this year. We believe it will be crucial to elect a president friendly to immigration "reform," i.e. We promise once again to halt illegal crossings if you extend amnesty to the 30 million illegals already here, after which, as in 1986, we'll flood across again.

The Dilemma - Barak or McCain?

Chao Chaoxiang, right, president of the Shanghai branch of ASSI, has been proudly in America illegally for 12 years, getting two doctorates, one in mathematics, the second in physics. He gives his views on the U.S. election panorama. Lui Shaodong, left, is his advisor.

“It is still too early to know which candidate will do more for members of ASSI.
Both John McCain and Barack Obama strongly support so-called “immigration reform,” which is in reality another wave of amnesty for us.
Now, Obama is a far-leftist radical who understands that 90% of illegals vote Democrat once they become citizens (or simply register to vote while they await citizenship). He would seek a much wider and easier road to citizenship than McCain would.
We have one problem. The U.S. Senate. If Democrats can’t win 60 seats this November, not counting Israeli citizen Joe Lieberman, a determined Republican minority could block any reform package from getting to Barack for his signature.
If McCain is elected, the Republicans, or most of them, would have to support his immigration reform, and of course, all Democrats would as well, assuring amnesty for all of us already here.
We’ll have to wait and see how the campaign goes. A real possibility exists of a total Democrat blowout in November that would allow them to write legislation of any kind into law without Republican help.
We’ll follow the race closely before calling on ASSI members to vote as we suggest.

REGISTER.
REGISTER ONCE, REGISTER TWICE, REGISTER MANY TIMES.

What all ASSI illegals can do now is, if possible, move to one of the swing states in the Midwest or on the East Coast where the election will be decided. Even if you can’t move, it’s important that you start registering now, as often as possible.
ASSI is running a special of free citizenship identification on paper that will dissolve in December (We don’t want to give up our lucrative practice of supplying false papers).
You should try and register in as many voting precincts near each other as possible so that you can vote a minimum of 10 times. This will geometrically enhance our power on election day.
Most Americans are so stupidly naïve and goody-goody, except for union leaders and snow birds in Florida, that they wouldn’t think of registering more than once.
That is the most important thing that ASSI members can do between now and election day. Register, register, register.
GET WITH IT!

Advice from Muhammed

Each week, Muhammed Ali Fashoon, pictured at right, gives advice to illegals in America and other countries.

Dear Muhammed,

From Salim: My daughter, who is 19, has always been a good Muslim girl, wore lipstick last Friday night and I believe met a boy। Obviously I must murder her in an honor killing but friends tell me that American law might frown on this act. Surely it cannot be true?

Muhammed: Allah Ak-bahr. Alas, U.S. law does not recognize honor killings, in another example of how primitive their legal system is. Sit down before you read this, but Americans would actually try and send you to jail just for killing a mere girl! Barbaric, isn’t it? The best plan would get her back to her native country, Pakistan or Saudi Arabia, and organize a feast of happiness in which you barbecue two or three goats while your neighbors stone her to death. Then you can fly back to America.

From Hugo Chavez, Venezuelan president: It has become increasingly difficult to run arms into America to the illegals I sent there to stir up the Hispanics. What do you suggest.

Muhammed: That is easy, Senor Presidente. Simply find the corrupt U.S. customs officials who allow in the tons of Columbian cocaine and piggyback on them. Do not doubt that they exist. The Americans are always screaming about corrupt Latin American officials who facilitate the drug trade, but what happens when the drugs cross into the United States? Who facilitates them? Manuel Noriega from his cell in a Federal prison? Suddenly, these tons and tons of cocaine suddenly cannot be seen from U.S. drug officials. Hah! Hah! And the American people never question why if their drug police can’t halt a shipment before it crosses the border, it can never be found again. Maybe some American master criminal invented ‘invisible dust!”

Muralist Puts up Pro-Illegal Mural in Prince William

By Nick Miroff
Washington Post Staff Writer Wednesday, July 2, 2008; Page B01
In Manassas's quaint, red-brick Old Town neighborhood, a giant billboard greets visiting tourists and commuters, but it was not put there by the city or Chamber of Commerce.
"PWC and Manassas the National Capital of Intolerence," it declares, in hand-painted, none-too-subtle red and blue block lettering. The sign, 40 feet long and 12 feet high, sits on the property of Gaudencio Fernandez, 47, a contractor who immigrated to the United States from Mexico in 1979.
What follows is a rambling indictment of Prince William County and Manassas, likening efforts to target illegal immigrants in the jurisdictions with slavery, Jim Crow laws and the Ku Klux Klan. "We demand equality and justice for all," Fernandez's broadside concludes. "We will not be your slaves of the 21st century."
Since it first appeared last fall, the billboard, called "The Liberty Wall" by Fernandez's supporters because of its address at 9500 Liberty St., has become a political symbol and a rallying point for those who see it as a truth-to-power act of defiance. The sign's text has changed a few times, but its message has essentially remained the same: Latino immigrants have been exploited by ungrateful, racist white residents who took advantage of their labor and now want them to leave.
To many residents and business owners, "The Sign," as they call it, is an ugly diatribe and galling eyesore. Comparing tougher immigration enforcement with genocide and slavery is offensive, insulting and wildly exaggerated, they said.
Local editorials and letters to Manassas officials have urged the city for months to remove the sign. Vandals with less patience have attacked the structure on several occasions, including one failed attempt to destroy it with a firebomb last year.
Despite the public pressure, Manassas officials have proceeded cautiously. With a Justice Department investigation into unfair housing practices pending against the city, as well as an unresolved lawsuit accusing the city of discrimination, Manassas officials are wary of further litigation and racial criticism. For the most part, city staff and council members have been silent or circumspect in discussing Fernandez and his sign, eager to avoid an escalation. Instead, they have prodded Fernandez to obtain a building permit for the sign or remove the billboard, but so far he has rebuffed them, citing the right to freedom of speech.
A standoff has set in, and next week, the city will take Fernandez to court. It recently sent police to his home to serve a summons to him and his wife, who is listed on the deed. City Manager Lawrence D. Hughes said Manassas is simply upholding city regulations, and that while Fernandez's billboard has offended many residents, its content is not the issue.
Fernandez could write anything he wanted on an existing, permitted structure because the city has no anti-sign ordinance, Hughes said. City officials said, however, that because the sign is mounted on the remaining wall of a house that burned down in 2006, and Fernandez reinforced the sign with a wooden base, he should have applied for a building permit.
"If anyone can build anything they want where they want, then we don't have a building code," Hughes said. "We've balanced the issue of free speech with the need to enforce the building code."
City zoning inspectors have also cited Fernandez for failing to keep the property in good order, accusing him of using it as a junkyard and providing a "habitat for undesirable wildlife," including rats and snakes.
Not true, Fernandez said.
Seeing the city's efforts as a ruse to silence him, Fernandez insists he will not remove the sign, nor allow it to be removed. Instead -- and this is where the standoff takes an especially strange twist-- Fernandez plans to enlarge the structure, having spent $1,500 on architectural drawings for a new, bigger, L-shaped wall, 140 feet by 61 feet, that would span the length of the property.
The new sign, Fernandez said, would feature painted murals and captions depicting the history of American racial injustice. "I really want the community to see what has been done to us people of color these last 500 years," said Fernandez, whose message to the "European Americans" of Manassas considers Latino immigrants to be "Native Americans" with a historical right to live in the United States.
To build such an installation on his property, Fernandez would need to apply to the city for a special-use permit because the property is zoned residential. Hughes said he considers the billboard a commercial use, even though its owner is trying to make a political statement, not a profit.
Fernandez said he bought the house and the property in 2003, and the original structure dates to the 1880s. Its location on Liberty Street puts it at the end of a block that is the last remnant of what was once Manassas's historically African American neighborhood. The house was not considered a historic property, Hughes said, because so many alterations and additions had been made to it over the decades.
In June 2006, the house was gutted in a fire that investigators traced to an improperly used extension cord. Fernandez was renting the house to tenants at the time, and a fire marshal's inquiry also found the house was in disrepair and in poor upkeep at the time of the blaze. The property remained in its damaged state until Fernandez began tearing it down last year.
It was about then that supervisors in Prince William County launched an enforcement campaign against illegal immigrants, sparking protests and unleashing the raw emotions of residents on both sides of the issue. Web sites and blogs erupted with angry comments and verbal attacks, and the county was thrust into the national spotlight.

That was when Fernandez launched his eye-catching, more old-fashioned kind of blog. Before then, Fernandez said, he was just a "regular person" who had not taken much interest in politics. He moved to the Manassas area seven years ago from the New York suburbs and enrolled his three children in Manassas public schools. With his centrally located, highly visible parcel as a soapbox, Fernandez left one wall of the ruined house intact and hung a banner from it that read: "Prince William Co. Stop Your Racism to Hispanics!"
The message quickly became a lightning rod. The banner was torn apart by vandals not long after it was put up, but Fernandez responded with a new message and sturdier materials. He also began hosting community cultural and political gatherings on his property.
"Mr. Fernandez's sign reflects the frustration he and others in the immigrant community have been feeling over the past year that their voices have not been heard," said Nancy Lyall, spokeswoman for the immigrant advocacy group Mexicans Without Borders, which has rallied behind Fernandez.
The group did not help Fernandez craft his politically charged statement, but Lyall said it supports his right to keep the sign because it does not use the language of "hate speech."
"We perhaps would have chosen some modification of the wording had it been a Mexicans Without Borders message," she said. "But the important thing is we understand Mr. Fernandez's heart. His sign represents the disappointment and pain that this country has inflicted on the immigrant community."
Many business owners and merchants in the Old Town district of Manassas say the sign is a disappointment. "It's like a dark cloud," said Joanne Wunderly, president of the Manassas Old Town Business Association. Her fine-arts and crafts store, "The Things I Love," is about 100 yards from Fernandez's billboard.
The structure has grown so notorious, Wunderly said, that when she explains her shop's location to visitors from other areas, they treat it like a city landmark and say, "Oh, that's where the sign is."
After spending millions of dollars trying to enhance the neighborhood's historic charm, it was not the kind of image the city bargained for, Wunderly said. "It's such a negative thing," she said. "When you see something calling you a racist, it takes away from the positive image you're trying to portray."
Lawrence "Buck" Buchanan, 82, sees Fernandez's sign every day from the house across the street where he has lived since 1947. He remembers when the city's African American community was much larger and when segregation was the reigning social order. Jim Crow laws in Manassas were not as rigid as they were in other parts of Northern Virginia, he said, recalling that his doctor had a common waiting room for patients.
The gatherings Fernandez has held around the sign do not bother him, Buchanan said, and there is a lot to the message that is true. Buchanan said, however, that he does not want to be confronted with the sign's loaded imagery every day.
"You put KKK up there and you bring blood up in my face," he said, shaking his head. "Why are you trying to bring that old stuff up again?"

The family that planted corn in the front yard of their $500,000 home is gone from Carrie Oliver's street. So are the neighbors who drilled holes into the trees to string up a hammock.

Oliver's list goes on: The loud music. The beer bottles. The littered diapers. All gone. When she and her husband, Ron, went for walks in their Manassas area neighborhood, she would take a trash bag and he would carry a handgun. No more. "So much has changed," she said in a gush of relief, standing with her husband on a warm summer evening recently outside a Costco store.
A short distance away, across the river of retail commerce that is Sudley Road, Norman Gonzalez spoke of change not as renewal, but as a kind of collapse.
Business at his restaurant, Cuna del Sol, has declined 50 percent. Worse still, his extended family's slow, steady relocation from the Guatemalan town of Jutiapa to the bustling Prince William suburbs has imploded. "A year ago, I had the biggest family in all of Manassas, maybe 100 relatives," he said.
Now, Gonzalez, a legal U.S. resident, has his own list: Langley Park, Chantilly, Fairfax City. That is where his brothers have scattered, and they will not visit him. "There's too much fear here," Gonzalez said.
